NOTES: From Mayflower Families...Vol. Six, Stephen Hopkins, page 72:...John...was a founder of the Truro Church 1 Nov 1711. Elizabeth Snow, wife of John, was admitted to the church 30 Aug 1713...On 20 Nov. 1721 Deacon John Snow, wife Elizabeth and son Joshua witnessed the will of Joseph Young of Truro; she swore as to attestation on 30 Jan 1722/3....On 31 March 1728 he was 'discarded for suspected adultery and other misdemeanors.' Probably as a result of his troubles, he moved ca.1728 to Duck Creek, Kent. Co., DE...First wife Elizabeth apparently remained on Cape Cod. She may be the Elizabeth Snow whose cattle mark was recorded at Truro 29 April 1736. No record of divorce or probate has been found for her.

NOTE: "Isaac Snow was a sea captain and was away from home much of the time. His wife, Polly Paine, used to worry about him when he was away at sea. When a storm would blow, she used to say, "Blow high, blow low, right through the Whimsey House. Poor Isaac's dead I know." Poor Isaac never did die at sea, but lived to a ripe old age and died at home. As a result of Polly's little verse, the Isaac Snow home became known as the Whimsey House."
